Important Compliance Reminders

  • Always make sure your referrals are for clients or personal contacts of yours – and not made as a proxy for a third party. Lenders and aggregators have a low level of tolerance for referrers making proxy referrals on behalf of other businesses or individuals.
  • Ensure that referrals are entered into the Nexus Connect portal.  Internal compliance requirements across all lenders require that client contact by lenders is only to be made after a referral has first been submitted via our Nexus Connect portal.
  • Less is best when it comes to information provided to lenders via our portal. When entering a client referral, only provide the clients name and contact details, and a brief description of the purpose of the loan (if you know the purpose).

Do not instruct the lender on which type of loan they are to provide or loan structure, and do not pass on any financial or supporting documentation on behalf of your client. The lender needs to contact the client directly and the client needs to provide supporting documentation to the lender directly themselves.

To book a compliance refresher session, please speak with your Nexus relationship manager or email info@nexuspartners.com.au and we’ll be in touch.
