NAB AFL Draft combine experience
October 12, 2015A great experience was had last Friday at the NAB Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium. A number of Nexus Partners referral partners had the opportunity to experience what it is like first hand to try out for the AFL Draft by being put through their paces in activities such as agility tests, vertical jumps, 20 metre sprints and kicking & handball drills.
The AFL Draft Combine is a key part of the player talent identification process. The event runs for four days and seeks to help identify potential AFL players who can combine athletic and mental ability with AFL skills. Each potential draftee is put through a range of physical, medical, psychological, psychomotor and skill tests to compare the best against the best from around Australia
Our team consisted of ten partners along with some very fit NAB bankers. The experience provided fantastic insight into what AFL hopefuls have to go through in order to be selected in the national draft.
Our athletic National Head of Sales and Operations still a bit stiff after giving it his all last Friday. “Quads and hammies still a bit sore!” he says.
